Venezuelan empanadas are made with harina PAN — a specially pre-cooked corn flour that creates a naturally gluten-free dough. The dough is mixed, shaped by hand, filled with your choice of ingredients, and then fried golden. This is completely different from wheat-flour empanadas found in other cuisines — the corn dough gives a unique flavour and a beautifully crispy texture.

The base dough is made from harina PAN corn flour, which is naturally gluten-free. However, our empanadas are prepared in our food truck, which also handles other ingredients. If you have a severe gluten allergy or coeliac disease, please contact us directly to discuss before ordering. We always want to make sure you have a safe and delicious experience!

You're welcome to walk up to the truck during opening hours. To order ahead, the easiest way is WhatsApp on +61 450 948 573 — just send us a message with your name, the empanadas you'd like, and your preferred collection date. You can also fill in the order form above on this page, or DM us on Instagram @empanadasqueens_. We usually respond within a few hours and will confirm all your order details personally.

For individual empanadas and small orders (up to 6), we often have same-day or next-day availability — just message us to check! For larger packs (Family 12, Party 24) we ask for at least 24 hours notice. For catering orders of 50+, please give us at least 3–5 days notice so we can prepare everything perfectly for your event.

We currently offer pick-up from our food truck at 24-34 Gladstone St, Southbank VIC 3006. For larger catering orders, we may be able to arrange delivery depending on your location — just ask us when you place your order. We're always happy to discuss the best arrangement for you. Absolutely — and we highly recommend it! All of our packs (Mix 6, Family 12, Party 24, and Catering) allow you to mix and match any fillings from across our entire menu. Beef, chicken, veggie, sweet — whatever combination your heart desires. Just let us know your selections when you order and we'll make them exactly as you like.

For the best results, reheat empanadas in an air fryer at 180°C for 4–5 minutes or in a conventional oven at 180°C for 8–10 minutes. This restores that beautiful crispy texture. Avoid microwaving if you can — it softens the crust and isn't as delicious. Empanadas are best enjoyed fresh and hot, so we always recommend eating them as soon as you can!

Yes! We absolutely love catering for events — from birthday parties and baby showers to corporate lunches and multicultural festivals. Our catering service starts at 50 empanadas with custom pricing and menu options. We'll work with you to create the perfect Venezuelan spread for your event. Message us via WhatsApp or Instagram to discuss your requirements and we'll put together a proposal for you.

We accept bank transfer (PayID / BSB), cash on pick-up, and other common Australian payment methods. We'll confirm payment details when we confirm your order via WhatsApp. We'll always let you know exactly how to pay before you collect your empanadas — no surprises!
